March 2016, CCW MiraStop

A butyl rubber and expandable bentonite clay waterproofing joint compound.

Bentonite waterstop plays a critical role in any below grade waterproofing system.

Waterstop should be installed at all non-moving cold pour joints and all construction/control joints: i.e. joints between footings and walls, vertical construction joints and all joints between pours. Bentonite waterstops require minimum 3” of concrete coverage. These products will swell and fill any gap that may potentially remain in concrete joints providing a compression seal not allowing water to pass through these “weak” points in the foundation walls/slabs.

Bentonite waterstop is an insurance against water infiltration and used in conjunction with Carlisle CCW waterproofing systems keeps finished space below grade dry as intended.

As always, if you have any questions or you would like to discuss a project where RoofSense may help determine your specification approach, please contact your local Luna & Associates sales representative to discuss in further detail.
